Cookie Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026 · Last Updated: June 10, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function correctly, remember your preferences, and provide anonymised data about how visitors use the site. Similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) work in a comparable way and are covered by this policy.
2. Cookies We Use
XCAPE Academy uses the following categories of cookies:
| Cookie / Technology | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session / auth cookies | Keep you logged in during your session | Session | Strictly necessary |
| Preference cookies | Remember your cookie consent choice | 1 year | Strictly necessary |
| Platform analytics (Base44 / Mixpanel) | Understand how visitors use the site — anonymised usage events | 1 year | Analytics (consent required) |
| Marketing pixels | Measure ad performance — not currently in use on this site | n/a | Marketing (consent required) |
3. Your Consent Choices
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled — they are required for the site to function (e.g. keeping you logged in).
Analytics and marketing cookies require your consent. When you first visit XCAPE Academy, we present a cookie consent banner where you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
Browser controls: You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of the site.
4. Jurisdiction-Specific Notices
EU / EEA / UK: We comply with the ePrivacy Directive (EU Cookie Law) and GDPR. Non-essential cookies are only set after you provide explicit consent.
California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If marketing pixels are introduced in future, you may opt out by declining marketing cookies on our consent banner.
Other jurisdictions: We apply a consent-first approach globally. If local law requires additional disclosures or mechanisms, we will implement them as required.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies and similar technologies are set by the service providers that operate this site: Base44 (hosting, authentication, and product analytics — which uses Mixpanel as its analytics processor) and Stripe (payment processing and fraud prevention). We do not currently run Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel on this site. If we introduce advertising or additional analytics tools, this policy and the consent banner will be updated before those tools are enabled.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies. Material changes will be notified via an updated banner. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
